Accustic Arts PLAYER IV
Accustic Arts proudly presents the PLAYER IV, a true reference-class CD player and digital-to-analogue converter — the culmination of decades of engineering mastery and craftsmanship. Designed and handcrafted in Germany, the PLAYER IV embodies the ultimate in precision, performance, and musical realism.
The PLAYER IV succeeds the acclaimed PLAYER II MK2 and represents a complete evolution in design and technology. At its heart lies a bespoke implementation of the renowned CD Pro-8 transport mechanism, integrated into a massive, resonance-optimised aluminium chassis block to ensure perfect mechanical stability and vibration control.
PRECISION ENGINEERING, EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE
The PLAYER IV is both a state-of-the-art CD transport and a world-class DAC. Equipped with four digital inputs (XLR, coaxial, optical, and asynchronous USB), it accommodates a wide range of digital sources, from laptops and Macs to dedicated streamers and servers.
The asynchronous USB input supports high-resolution playback up to DSD256, while the internal DAC employs 32-bit/384 kHz upsampling technology to deliver extraordinary clarity, dynamic range, and musical depth.
Balanced XLR outputs ensure the purest possible signal transfer to amplifiers, complementing its class-leading analogue stage.
CD PRO-8 TRANSPORT – THE HEART OF PLAYER IV
At the centre of the PLAYER IV lies the legendary Philips CD Pro-8 transport, widely regarded as one of the finest CD mechanisms ever produced.
Its solid die-cast metal chassis, mechanical decoupling, and magnetically coupled chrome-brass puck ensure smooth, precise disc rotation and optimal laser tracking. The transport assembly is mounted within its own subchassis for perfect isolation and resonance control — a design that guarantees an ultra-stable platform for the purest digital extraction.
POWER & PRECISION
To achieve un-compromised performance, the PLAYER IV features two independent, generously dimensioned power supplies, each with a 25 VA toroidal transformer (Made in Germany).
Separate windings feed the laser control, digital signal processing, and DAC sections, ensuring perfect isolation between analogue and digital domains. The result: a dramatically improved signal-to-noise ratio and a sense of effortless musical realism.
The chassis itself is crafted from resonance-minimised metal, featuring a microlised aluminium front panel and chrome accents that exude sophistication and timeless design.
