The TEMPO loudspeakers manage the feat of bridging the gap between unbelievable precision, realistic rendering and uncompromising neutrality like no TEMPO before. Equipped with the latest AUDIO PHYSIC developments and meticulously refined down to the detail, the TEMPO  significantly raise the bar in terms of what you can now expect from a living-room friendly standing loudspeaker. You can treat yourself to incomparable music enjoyment, true to the AUDIO PHYSIC motto: “Nothing but Music”.

The TEMPO  almost appear fragile, and yet they skilfully conceal the refined engineering and intelligent design that make them exceptional loudspeakers in their class. Their slender, tall shape, gently sloped at an angle, and with rejuvenating side panels towards the front, reduces rogue, i.e. unwanted natural oscillations of the cabinet, along with standing waves in the interior of the loudspeaker.

Without countermeasures, own vibrations and standing waves such as these can quickly cause an undifferentiated, sometimes even droning, sound. The design of the TEMPO  combats these dangers at the source. Two high-performance bass drivers, equipped with stiff aluminium membranes, are located precisely across from one another in the sides of the TEMPO . The location and switching of the chassis and the so-called “push-push technology” create a symmetrical distribution of force on the loudspeaker cabinet when the loudspeaker is in use. The complete facelift of the bass compartment makes a substantial contribution towards improving the impulse response. Instead of traditional insulation material for dampening the acoustic noise emitted into the loudspeaker interior, open-pore ceramic foam is deployed. With a pore ratio of over 85%, the dampening is now significantly more effective. The ceramic foam itself is extremely stiff and helps to further stabilise the loudspeaker cabinet. The result is a level of precision unto its own in this class.

The tweeters and midrange drivers are manufactured exclusively for AUDIO PHYSIC, their hybrid cone construction (HHC technology) is unique, combining the dampening characteristics of modern polymers with the stability and torsional stiffness of metal. Detrimental effects on sound due to interactions between the suspension system and the chassis basket are thus effectively eliminated. The outcome is a smooth and homogeneous acoustic pattern, from the fundamental tone all the way to the highest frequencies.Like the tweeter, the mid-range driver of the TEMPO  has its own compartment. In addition to the elaborate HHC basket construction, the mid-range driver is also equipped with a fixed phase plug made of metal. Depending upon the music material and volume, suspension systems tend to develop intense heat, which under circumstances can alter certain parameters. The metal phase plug is an efficient heat sink, also reducing compression effects behind the membrane. The new TEMPO  features the latest generation of mid-range drivers, the HHCM III.

When it comes to the tweeters, the TEMPO  features the latest chassis generation, HHCT III, which is also deployed in larger AUDIO PHYSIC loudspeakers. The crossovers were also given a facelift, individual components selectively protected from micro-vibrations and the interior wiring was intuitively streamlined. Not least, the TEMPO  is built with solid aluminium traverses, which are also used in the AVANTI . They guarantee easy handling and optimal contact to the floor. The result of these measures: significantly higher resolution, enhanced homogeneity and stunningly authentic musicality. The  new TEMPO  also featured magnetic fabric grills in black instead of normal fabric grills.

The TEMPO  stylish traverses facilitate setup and guarantee a sure footing on any surface. Thanks to the M8 threads, the TEMPO  can be easily equipped with the Audio Physic VCF II Magnetic plus feet. Their cutting-edge design enables a noticeably improved audio fidelity and reproduction authenticity. Not only that, the VCF II M8 Magnetic plus feet protect sensitive floors from scratches.

  • 3-Way Design
The 3-way speaker features three different drivers that share reproduction of the entire frequency range. One or more woofers, a midrange driver and a tweeter. Usually the crossover frequency between low and mid frequencies is set between 150Hz and 300Hz, and between 2,000Hz and 3,000Hz for the transition from the midrange to the tweeter.

HHCT III – Hyper Holographic Cone Tweeter
Many AUDIO PHYSIC Core Technologies have been combined to build the HHCM-III tweeter. Together, they serve a single purpose: To guarantee an authentic rendition of the music, unaffected by any unwanted vibrations.

    Push-Push Configuration
Some of the side-mounted woofers in our 3-way and 31/2-way speakers are arranged in a Push-Push configuration in which the forces exerted on the cabinet by the two woofers cancel each other out, avoiding the introduction of vibrations that could harm sound quality.

    Dual Basket Design
AUDIO PHYSIC’S unique DUAL BASKET DESIGN is a true break-through innovation and the most important part of the HHCM-III technology. Instead of the tradition single basket, our HHCM-III features two separate baskets to prevent and subdue unwanted vibrations already at the source.

    Ceramic Foam Bracing
Ceramic Foam is a high-tech material used for internal bracing in many of our speakers. It is much stiffer than MDF although it consists of 85% air. This means, the room taken up by the internal bracing is also part of the effective volume of air the drivers need to work. By using Ceramic Foam, we can build loudspeakers that match and out-perform much bulkier speakers.

    Active Cone Damping
ACTIVE CONE DAMPING is a unique design to reduce resonances in metal diaphragms, developed exclusively by AUDIO PHYSIC.

    Aluminium Phase-Plug
All midrange drivers used in AUDIO PHYSIC speakers feature an aluminium phase plug mounted directly onto the motor system. This elaborate design has several advantages over conventional drivers.

    Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping optional
Most our speakers have a regular single-wiring terminal to avoid unnecessary metal or wire bridges that would harm sound quality when used in single-wiring configuration (Which is what most Hi-Fi fans actually use). However, an optional Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping Terminal can usually be ordered with any new speaker. Retrofitting only on special request.

CCAC – Ceramic Coated Aluminium Cone
By coating a conical aluminium diaphragm with a special ceramic material, AUDIO PHYSIC creates a diaphragm that is at the same time very light as well as extremely rigid. When used together with ACTIVE CONE DAMPING technology the cone diaphragm is virtually immune against any partial oscillations that would otherwise impair the sound.

VCF – Vibration Control Feet optional
The best feet for our – and other – speakers. VCF provide a substantial improvement of sound performance by reducing transfer of unwanted vibrations while at the same time protecting delicate surfaces. Also available as VCF Component for Hi-Fi separates and as VCF Cable Supports.

    VCT – Vibration Control Terminal
Unwanted vibrations have negative effects on sound quality wherever they occur in the signal path. Because AUDIO PHYSIC has made it their mission to fight unwanted vibration and resonance whenever and wherever they occur, the fully decoupled VIBRATION CONTROL TERMINAL (VCT) has been devised.

HHCM III – Hyper Holographic Cone Midrange
Many AUDIO PHYSIC Core Technologies have been combined to build the HHCM-III midrange driver. Together, they serve a single purpose: To guarantee an authentic rendition of the music, unaffected by any unwanted vibrations.
