The Axxess Forté 3 is the flagship of Audio Group Denmark's Axxess range, the same Danish house responsible for Aavik, Ansuz and Børresen, created to bring that reference-level engineering to a far more attainable amplifier. It is four components in one: a network streamer, a digital-to-analogue converter, an integrated amplifier and a Class A headphone stage, all in one elegant composite chassis. Power comes from 2 x 100 watts of UMAC amplification fed by an Aavik-inspired resonant-mode power supply, and decoding is handled by a 1-bit DAC developed in-house, designed to keep the natural, analogue character of the music rather than imposing a digital signature on it.
What lifts it above the rest of the Forté line is Audio Group Denmark's noise-reduction technology. All three Forté models share the same core, but the Forté 3 packs in the most Ansuz Tesla-coil and resonance-control circuitry of the three, cancelling electrical noise inside the unit to leave the music on the blackest possible background. The result is the calm, dynamic, utterly natural sound the group is known for, from a single tidy unit with short signal paths and no rack of separate boxes and cables to feed.
For anyone wanting true high-end sound without building a full separates system, the Forté 3 is one of the most complete answers on the market. Rarely seen pre-loved.
