Philosophy: Gato’s stated aim of building the best-sounding integrated they can inside a compact, sculpted chassis, where the industrial design is as considered as the circuit. The AE is the Anniversary Edition.
Performance: A vice-like grip on the speaker combined with a fluid, open midrange and razor-sharp bass control. Powerful and refined in equal measure, and striking to look at with its curved casework and analogue meter.
Technology: 150W per channel into 8 ohms, 250W into 4 ohms, with a high-current output of 20 amperes. JFET input stage and MOSFET output devices in push-pull Class AB, and a pre-heating circuit that brings the amplifier to thermal stability, shown on the analogue display. One balanced (XLR) and four line (RCA) inputs, with XLR and RCA outputs. Awarded a 6moons Blue Moon Award.
