Philosophy: John Curl’s long-held belief that a power amplifier should get out of the music’s way. The A23+ is the refined version of a design that has earned a reputation for punching far above its size and price.
Performance: Clean, muscular and composed, with the grip to stay in control of real-world speakers rather than just easy ones. It sounds its best from the moment it is switched on, not after a long warm-up.
Technology: 160W per channel into 8 ohms, 240W into 4 ohms, and 500W in bridged mono. High-bias Class A/AB operation, a direct-coupled signal path with no capacitors or inductors in the way, JFET input and MOSFET driver stages, 45A peak current per channel, and stable into impedance dips below 2 ohms. Balanced inputs with discrete circuitry and a large shielded toroidal transformer.
