Philosophy: Built on the two principles Ayre made its name with: zero feedback and fully balanced operation. Ayre’s view is that a zero-feedback circuit is the more musical path, even where feedback might measure better on paper.

Performance: Music from a genuinely black background, with a clean, expressive midrange and excellent image focus. Noticeably clearer and more dynamic again when run fully balanced in and out.

Technology: Fully balanced, dual-mono, zero-feedback phono stage for both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, using ultra-low-noise FET circuitry. Balanced and single-ended inputs and outputs, and fully balanced internally, so it can take advantage of the naturally balanced output of a cartridge for inherent noise cancellation. A minimalist unit with no front-panel clutter.
