Innuos have built their reputation on making digital audio both simple and genuinely high fidelity, and the ZENmini Mk3 is the gateway into their range. It does everything in one place. A slot-loading drive rips your CD collection to perfect lossless copies complete with artwork and metadata, an onboard drive stores the lot, and the built-in streamer opens up Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify Connect and internet radio, all controlled from a simple app on your phone or tablet. A built-in 24bit/192kHz DAC lets you run it straight into any amplifier out of the box, while USB, coaxial and optical digital outputs let you feed a separate DAC whenever you decide to upgrade.
What sets it apart from a computer or an off-the-shelf NAS is the engineering. Innuos build the ZENmini on a custom motherboard with audio-treated components and floating, isolated drives, all running their purpose-built innuOS software, so music is served with far lower noise and far greater musicality than a general-purpose machine can manage. It is Roon-ready, will happily act as a Roon Core, and can be lifted further still with Innuos's matching external linear power supply when the time comes.
