The ATC SCM50 PSL is a full three-way passive standmount, the studio monitor that countless records have been mixed and mastered on, in a form built for serious home listening. Every drive unit is designed and made in-house by ATC in Gloucestershire. The star is ATC's legendary 75mm soft-dome midrange, a three-inch dome widely regarded as one of the finest ever made and the reason voices and instruments sound so utterly, startlingly real. Above it sits the 25mm S-Spec dual-suspension soft-dome tweeter, which extends cleanly and never hardens, and below it the 234mm Super Linear bass driver, whose Super Linear Magnet technology cuts the magnetic distortion that colours lesser designs and delivers weight and grip far beyond what the cabinet's size suggests.
Loaded in a compact sealed enclosure, the SCM50 PSL gives the broad, even dispersion and superb amplitude and phase accuracy ATC are known for, painting a soundstage on a grand scale with pinpoint focus. Being passive, it asks for a genuinely capable amplifier to drive it, and given that it rewards you with the honest, unflinching accuracy that has made ATC a fixture in the world's finest studios and listening rooms alike.
